Job Opportunity: Senior Electrical Engineer – Electrical Substations

SEEPCO is currently on the lookout for a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in Electrical Substations. This full-time position is available in two vibrant locations: Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom, and Lagos.

Job Description:

The Senior Electrical Engineer will play a crucial role in Planning, Survey, Construction, Erection, Installation, EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety), Quality, Testing, and Commissioning of Electrical and other Equipment related to 330kV and 132kV GIS Substations, as well as 132kV EHV Cabling under T&D (Transmission and Distribution).

Responsibilities:

  1. Comprehensive Project Oversight:
    • Supervise and review Contour Surveys and Soil Investigation Reports.
    • Prepare L3 Schedules and coordinate with the engineering team for timely delivery of drawings.
    • Establish site offices and manage site mobilization.
  2. Logistics and Coordination:
    • Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for efficient delivery and storage of items.
    • Finalize subcontractors and ensure compliance with specifications.
  3. Construction and Commissioning:
    • Oversee construction activities related to 330kV and 132kV GIS Substations, 132kV EHV Cabling, and more.
    • Lead Erection, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of critical electrical systems.
  4. Safety and Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and maintain EHS standards at the site.
    • Prepare and execute the Field Quality Plan (FQP).
    • Ensure compliance with specification requirements.
  5. Documentation and Communication:
    • Facilitate the preparation of As-Built Drawings and review vendor offers and documents.
    • Review and improve Erection, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning Procedures of Electrical Systems.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • 10-12 years of relevant experience for Degree Engineers; 12-15 years for Diploma Engineers.
  • Expertise in planning, surveying, construction, and commissioning of Electrical Equipment.
  • Proven experience with GIS Substations as a Senior Site Engineer.
  • Excellent team leadership and communication skills.

Remuneration:

The successful candidate can expect a competitive monthly salary ranging from N1,000,000 to N2,000,000.
